Filtermate Filtration System

Description

The FilterMate^® Filtration System provides a convenient and inexpensive method of filtration requiring no transfer steps. The FilterMate fits directly into the digestion vessel and is pushed through the liquid being filtered to the bottom of the cup with a detachable plunger. After filtration is complete, the plunger is removed and discarded while the filter assembly remains in the bottom of the cup. This arrangement does not interfere with storage or use of the vessel in an autosampler. FilterMates are available with different choices of filters for specific filtration needs.

Common Q&A:

•  These filters have a 5.0 micron porosity.
• The filter inside is PTFE which is suitable for this digestion. Be aware that PTFE is hydrophobic and will slightly resist filtration of aqueous matrices. Low pH, such as that resulting from acid digestion will assist in overcoming this.
• Product sold in packs of 100 from manufacturer; we have repackaged for individual sale.
• This filter can be used for groundwater samples. The important question is the analytes you are looking for and what method you need to follow. Important points to consider are the analytes of interest in your samples, the preservatives or other chemical process used prior to filtering, the purpose of the filtering, the need for access to the solid material filtered out of the sample, and if the entire aliquot of sample needs to be filtered or not
